Sustainability For The Future
Packaging:
PURA's products are contained in high quality, recyclable glass in either dark, opaque or frosted bottles and jars to preserve the quality and integrity of our supernatural formulas. A select few PURA products can be found in high quality, recyclable, PET plastic bottles. We have developed refill packets for some of our more popular items, for minimal waste.
We use as little paper as possible in our packaging - for example, we do not use inserts as all information regarding ingredients, etc. is available on our website.
PURA is working on converting our paper labels to direct print on many of our bottles.
We are a member of PACT Collective. PURA uses recyclable paper crush and potato starch packing peanuts. PURA encourages up-cycling of our glass packaging - please see our blog post for more information.
Partnerships:
Our ingredient suppliers must have SDS (Safety Data Sheets) and Certificates of Analysis (how safely an ingredient is processed).Low-Waste In-house Manufacturing:
Our products are made in small batches to ensure quality and freshness in Canada. PURA has a diligent batch code and traceability program. PURA's production team is conscious and passionate about minimizing waste.
PURA is: A Pact Collective Member![]() Pact collects hard-to-recycle packaging and finds the best and highest use for the material.Hard-to-recycle packaging includes plastic packages smaller than a yogurt cup, squeezable plastic tubes, pumps, caps, coloured glass, and other common beauty formats that are highly unlikely to be recycled in curb-side programs (yes, even “single stream” bins). Municipal recovery facilities can’t process them, end-markets don’t want them, and the resin and packaging makers usually take ZERO responsibility for their products’ end-of-life. Check out the Pact’s Collection Guidelines to learn where this specific package belongs--in the Pact bin, in home recycling, or in the trash. Find a Pact Bin near you (we have one at PURA's Edmonton flagship store!) and toss in the Pact-approved clean empties ![]() PURA x Pact Recycle ProgramDrop off 3 (or more) items at PURA's flagship store for a maximum 500 PURA points per drop-off! Please only bring in the hard to recycle items such as: Please refer to your local recycle guidelines to learn what is or is not recyclable in your area before dropping off at PURA (for example: coloured glass is recyclable in Edmonton recycling facilities, however is not recyclable in Spruce Grove).
