Winter’s Eve Hand Cream is one of PURA’s most beloved and giftable potions. Inspired by talented florist and designer, Cory Christopher (aka 'The King of Christmas'), this luxurious hand cream nourishes the skin and the senses with a potent blend of all-natural, plant-powered ingredients.

A collaboration between PURA’s founder, Lane Edwards, and Cory Christopher from several years ago, this hand potion is crafted with soothing vitamin E and coconut oil to moisturize and nourish the skin which is essential during the drier winter months. The complex blend of pure essential oils and absolutes evoke one of Cory’s favourite winter retreats - a cozy cabin in the woods, warmed by a crackling fire, hot apple cider simmering on the stove, with the scent of pine floating in from the fresh, snowy outdoors. Honey-faceted blood orange, smoky cedarwood, elegant bergamot, and a touch of cinnamon bark, offer comforting aromas and invigorate the senses. Essentially, Winter’s Eve is classic wintertime Canadiana in a jar -- the perfect gift for a teacher, neighbour, friend, and, of course, YOU!

Winter’s Eve Plant-Powered Ingredients

Vitamin E - Vitamin E is actually an antioxidant which helps to fight free radicals, preventing premature aging and repairing damage due to sun exposure. Rich and emollient in texture, it deeply moisturizes to help improve dry, flaky skin and soothe chapped skin.

Coconut Oil - The Medium Chain Fatty Acids present in Coconut Oil (Caprylic Acid, Lauric Acid, Capric Acid) reduce inflammation and deeply moisturize the skin, helping to maintain the skin’s moisture balance. The antioxidants present in Coconut Oil help to reduce free radical damage, preventing premature aging and also keep the skin smooth and supple by promoting collagen production.

Cocoa Absolute - Rich, decadent, chocolatey cocoa absolute is a well known aphrodisiac, and helps to boost mood and create feelings of contentment. It softens and improves skin’s elasticity, while antioxidants help to protect against premature aging.

Blood Orange - Uplifting Blood Orange has a warm, tart, citrusy aroma, and boasts the same skin benefits as Sweet Orange oil. The high vitamin C content helps to brighten, heal and protect skin while enhancing collagen production and fighting premature aging; fading sun spots and scars, minimizing fine lines and improving skin elasticity.

Cedarwood - Skin-purifying Cedarwood essential oil belongs to a group of chemicals called sesquiterpenes, which are known for their ability to promote healthy, blemish-free skin. Cedarwood can also tighten facial skin, promote a youthful appearance; and when inhaled promotes calm, grounded energy.

Bergamot - Problem-solving Bergamot oil is a natural skin cleanser – removing dirt and impurities, helping to unclog pores and balance oil production. It also possesses antiseptic, antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties, which assist with preventing breakouts, boosting skin health and soothing skin irritations. Bergamot also acts as a natural deodorant due to its antibacterial nature. Furthermore, Bergamot is mood enhancing and builds confidence, while helping to relieve stress and anxiety.

Cinnamon Bark - Sweet, spicy Cinnamon bark oil can help to treat skin conditions such as rashes and acne, and when inhaled can help boost immunity. It was highly valued in ancient Egypt, as well as in Chinese and Ayurvedic medicine to help heal a myriad of ailments.
